Smart clipboard for Windows and Linux
The clipboard that remembers.
Orange Copy Paste keeps the text, images and files you copy in a searchable history, next to your notes, on every device. End-to-end encrypted, and fully usable offline.
How it works
Copy. Find. Paste.
Copy anywhere
Keep copying the way you always have. A background watcher notices every copy in about a fifth of a second and adds it to history: text, links, images, files, even rich HTML.
Find it later
Search by content or group name. Filter by type, date, group, or cloud state, and every filter shows how many items it would leave before you apply it.
Paste it back
A small popup opens at your cursor with your recent and pinned items. Press a number, 1 to 9 or 0 for the tenth, and that item is pasted into whatever app you are in.
Features
Small app. Long memory.
Everything below works without an account. Sync and sharing are layered on top, never wired in as a requirement.
History that holds on
No entry limit, always deduped, and kept across restarts. Pin up to 10 for the quick-paste popup, and clearing your history never touches what you pinned or saved.
Groups and filters
Tag entries with colored groups, then filter by type, date, group, or cloud state. Deleting a group gives you five seconds to undo it.
Notes with a real editor
Headings, task lists, tables, code blocks with syntax highlighting, callouts, images and attachments. Export any note as Markdown whenever you want out.
Images, files and video
Screenshots and photos are captured at full quality and kept on disk, not in memory. Copied videos play right on the card.
Works offline, forever
No account required. Everything lives on your machine, and the app is fully usable with sync off or the network gone.
Quiet by design
Can close to the tray and start when you sign in, on Windows and Linux; both are off until you turn them on. The copy and paste sounds are off by default too.
Every screen, in order
Watch it work.
Six screens, one window, read top to bottom. Mockups built from the app's own styles, at the size it draws them.

In the app
Every surface, up close.
Mockups built from the app's own styles and drawn at the sizes it renders them, filled with made-up content.
The quarterly numbers land Thursday. Loop finance in before the board call and confirm the travel line.
#ff3e1c on #0e0e0e reads 4.6:1, so the label needs 600 weight.

Ship the rail at 272 and let people drag it. The old fixed one was too tight for four members.

- Rotate the space key
- Re-wrap for the four of us

Ship the popup clamp fix first, then the rail. The clamp is the one people hit.

Yes, the history stays on disk when sync is off. Nothing is uploaded until you sign in.
| Window | Size |
|---|---|
| Copy popup | 340 x 260 |
| Paste popup | 340 x 460 |
| Main window | 920 x 560 |
The rail should have ends. A line that stops dead reads as a bug.
Fixed by fading the last group out under its own dot.
Before the tag
- Draft the notes
- Check both update channels
The tag is here:
Only what you uploaded. Picking a row syncs first, then opens it.
12.4 MB used, 37.6 MB free. Only images you uploaded count here. Text and notes take no storage, and images other people shared with you stay on their account.
96 of 3,000 rows used. Deleted items stop counting once the delete reaches the server. A single entry can be up to 512 KB; anything larger is left on this device.
7K2M-9QX4Items from your other devices arrive the moment they are copied, and what you copy here uploads right away.

Spaces
A clipboard you can share.
A Space is a live, shared feed between any number of people. Share a clip or a note into it and everyone sees it in seconds, still end-to-end encrypted with a key the server never holds.
- Invite your way. A code, a link that works for people without the app, or an email. A code or link sends a request, and the owner lets them in, or any member if the owner allows it.
- Auto-copy incoming. Turn it on per space and shared items land straight on your clipboard as they arrive.
- Send filters, off by default. Auto-share only the content, types or groups you choose. Until you do, only items you share by hand go in.
- Talk about it in place. Comment on anything shared into a space, with mentions.
Sync and security
Synced to every computer. Readable only on yours.
Clips, notes and settings are encrypted on your computer before they leave it. The server stores them but holds no key that opens them.

Sync server
Sees the type and time, never the content

Decrypted on arrival
The server stores and forwards each item as ciphertext. Only your own computers turn it back into text.

They get ciphertext. Item types and times show, the content does not.
<<what if>>

Its signature fails the check built into the app, so it does not install.
<<what if>>

Your recovery code opens the same master key, so nothing is lost.
<<what if>>
up to youYour computer is left unlocked
Local history is not encrypted, so the app works offline. Lock your screen.
Pick Realtime, Passive (every 5 minutes) or Manual on each device. Deletes travel too, offline work queues up, and conflicts resolve to the latest edit.
The full model, including what the server does see, is in the security docs.
Download
Your clipboard is about to get a memory.
Free, no account, nothing to configure. Install it, copy something, press Ctrl+Shift+V.
Linux
AppImage to run it as it comes, or a deb to install it. X11 is the smoothest ride, and Wayland works with a small setup step.
macOS
A Mac build is on the way. Everything here, on Apple silicon and Intel.
Coming soon...Version 0.4.2-every build and its notes
Updates arrive inside the app and are signature-checked. They wait for you to install them unless you turn on automatic installs. A beta channel is one switch away in Settings.
