FAQ

No. Everything except sync and spaces works without one, and you can add an account later without losing your history. See Cloud sync.

Yes. A cloud account includes 50 MB of encrypted storage for images and files; text and notes do not count against it. See Files, images and folders.

Can the server, or anyone at RoverTools, read my clips?

Section titled “Can the server, or anyone at RoverTools, read my clips?”

No. Items are encrypted on your computer, and the server holds no key that opens them. The security model lists what the server can and cannot see.

Reset it from the sign-in screen. On a computer you have signed in on before, your data stays readable; elsewhere you also need your recovery code. See How to reset a forgotten password.

Why did my history disappear after a restart?

Section titled “Why did my history disappear after a restart?”

Older versions cleared unsaved history on restart by default, and could leave a new PC with an empty history after signing in. Update the app. If you use cloud sync, what your account holds comes back on its own at the next start. See Missing history for the steps, and Settings for Keep history across restarts.

Synced files are capped at 5 MB per entry. A bigger one stays on that computer, and the app lists it as not synced instead of dropping it. See Files, images and folders.

Does someone I share with see my whole clipboard?

Section titled “Does someone I share with see my whole clipboard?”

No. You share items one at a time into a space. Automatic sharing is off until you turn it on, and never shares older items. See Spaces and sharing.

Not yet. A Mac build for Apple silicon and Intel is planned. Today the app runs on Windows and Linux.

Where do I report a bug or ask for a feature?

Section titled “Where do I report a bug or ask for a feature?”

In the app repository’s issues.
